Mark noted in an interview with Kwame Dadzie on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z that while some people have supported political parties, they are still successful in their line of business.
He gave Kwabena Kwabena as an example, saying that the ‘Asor’ crooner’s music career flourished even after he supported Nana Akufo-Addo for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential candidacy.
Kwabena Kwabena’s song “NPP Wo Soro” helped her become a more well-known performer. Yes, Kwabena Kwabena gained popularity by supporting Akufo-Addo as a candidate. Thus, do not place the responsibility for your problems on political parties. You will succeed if you have good self-management and brand positioning.
The Deputy Minister examined the effects of involvement on creatives as part of his contribution to the conversation about the role of creatives in partisan politics.
He also indicated that he is still open to doing business with a company he worked for before entering politics.
“I talked to a few of the businesses I used to work for. I mentioned that you people wouldn’t want to collaborate with me because I am now in politics. They told me that they were willing to continue doing business with me and that I should come back when I was done with politics,” he added.
2008 saw Kwabena Kwabena release “Number One,” which served as the NPP’s campaign song, as her first endorsement of Akufo-Addo.
He persisted in endorsing Akufo-Addo in the elections of 2012 and 2016.
Kwabena Kwabena has said that he is finished with politics in the interim. In an interview with TV3, he stated that he does not wish to get back into politics.
“I’ve given up on politics entirely. When asked if he will run for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in this year’s general election, he responded, “I am Ghanaian.”
