What are the basic Admission Entry Requirements for KNUST?

Admission Entry Requirements for KNUST WASSCE/SSSCE Applicants:

  1. You should have at least three credit in core subjects: Mathematics, English, Integrated science and Social studies.
  2. You need to have credit in three elective subjects relevant to the course you want to pursue.
  3. Your aggregate score should be 24 or below i.e. ((WASSCE: A1-C6/SSSCE A-D). Note that grades D7, E8 and F9 are not accepted in KNUST.

Admission Entry Requirements for KNUST General Business Certificate Examination (GBCE) Applicants:

  1. You should have passes in three core subjects including English language.
  2. You need to have a credit in three elective subjects including Business Mathematics.

Admission Entry Requirements for KNUST GCE/IGCSE (CAMBRIDGE) ‘A’ & ‘O’ Levels/ Mature Applicants:

  1. You must have five credits at the GCE/IGCSE ‘O’ level including English language and Mathematics or its approved equivalents.
  2. You should have passes in at least three subjects at the Advanced level or three credits in the case of a mature applicants.
  3. Applicants must fulfill the appropriate faculty or departmental requirements.

Admission Entry Requirements for KNUST Advanced Business Certificate Examination (ABCE) Applicants:

  1. You must have passes in at least three compulsory subjects
  2. You must have passes in at least three optional subjects relevant to the course who want to pursue.

Admission Entry Requirements for KNUST For International Baccalaureate (IB) Holders:

  1. You should have grade four and above at the higher level in three relevant subjects.
  2. Applicant must have a minimum of grade 4 in English language and Mathematics at the Standard level and at least grade C in a Science subject at the IGSCE.
  3. For Health and Allied Sciences, a minimum grade of 5 in chemistry is required.
  4. For Engineering, applicants must have at least grade 5 at the higher level in Mathematics.
  5. Applicant from French speaking countries must provide minimum of one year English proficiency certificate.

What are the grade requirements for KNUST?

Applicants must must have a Final Grade Point of at least 3.0 for admission to pursue a degree programme. However, for admission to the University School of Medicine and Dentistry, an applicant must have a Final Grade Point of at least 3.25.
