How to Apply for GNPC Scholarship in Ghana

GNPC Scholarship

The GNPC scholarship is awarded by the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation. This prestigious institution offers local scholarships to brilliant but needy undergraduate and postgraduate students in any of the public tertiary institutions in Ghana.

The Executive Director of GNPC scholarship, Dr. Dominic Kwesi Eduah, revealed that over 7,800 students in Ghana have benefited from the scholarship scheme at the tertiary level.

What does the GNPC scholarship cover?

The GNPC scholarship covers tuition, accommodation, living expenses, and learning materials for all its qualified applicants.

Who can apply?

  • Applicants must be Ghanaian.
  • They must have obtained admission to pursue a postgraduate or undergraduate degree program at an accredited tertiary institution in Ghana.
  • Teachers and lecturers in STEM and TVET at technical institutions.
  • Postgraduate applicants must have completed their National Service.
  • Physically challenged students.
  • Needy but brilliant students.

Note: Nursing Training Colleges and Colleges of Education are not eligible.

Note that GNPC scholarship give preference to individuals who have an interest in studying the following:

  • Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
  • Special Needs Education and B. Ed. Programs.
  • Agricultural Science.
  • Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
  • First-year students.
  • Physically challenged individuals.

Undergraduate Required Documents for GNPC Scholarship

  • Scanned copy of the admission letter.
  • Scanned copy of WAEC results or certificate.
  • Scanned copy of a testimonial from your previous school.
  • Proof of Nationality (Birth Certificate / National Identification Card).
  • Passport picture.
  • Continuing students are to upload their academic transcripts.
  • The previous undergraduate certificate (degree, HD, Diploma) and corresponding transcript for applicants pursuing another undergraduate certificate (Degree, HND, B-Tech).

Postgraduate Required Documents for GNPC Scholarship

  • Scanned copy of the admission letter.
  • Scanned copy of the first-degree certificate.
  • Scanned copy of other degree certificates (PhD only).
  • Scanned copy of transcripts.
  • Copy of the curriculum vitae.
  • Scanned copy of letters of recommendation (academic and occupational).
  • Scanned copy of the National Service Certificate.
  • Scanned copy of proof of Nationality (Copy of bio-data page / National I.D. Card).
  • Passport picture.

How to apply for the GNPC scholarship?

  1. Visit the GNPC Scholarship website
  2. Create an account.
  3. Log in if you already have an account.
  4. Enter your active phone number, email address, and your full name.
  5. Choose the type of application.
  6. Click on Continue.
  7. Attach relevant documents.

Applicants should kindly take note of the following and avoid any activity contrary to that:

  • All applications are to be done online (www.gnpcghana.com).
  • The submission of hard copies of the application would be rejected.
  • Applicants with any form of disability are required to upload a medical certificate stating the level of seriousness of the disability.
  • Applicants who enjoy any form of educational scholarship should not apply.
  • Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.

It is important that your eligibility for this scholarship award is based on the provision of accurate information. Misrepresentation in any material renders the application null and void.

If you misrepresent any information, GNPC scholarship will withdraw any awarded funds and investments, and you may face prosecution or be required to refund the money.
