This article will provide a step-by-step guide on how to buy CSSPS voucher, check CSSPS school placement and so on.

CSSPS Placement Checker

The CSSPS is the acronym for Computerized School Selection and Placement System. The automated merit-based system has replaced the manual system in selecting and placing qualified BECE candidates into second cycle institutions in Ghana.

The Ghana Education Service developed the CSSPS Placement Checker, an online platform where BECE candidates can select their senior high schools and check their placement status.

How is CSSPS done?

Selection is based on scores for six subjects, which includes four core subjects and any other two best subjects. The core subjects are English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science and Social Studies for Senior High Schools while for tertiary or vocational institutions, Pre-technical skills replace Social Studies as the fourth core subjects.

Candidates must note that they need to meet the following requirements to be qualify for selection and placement:

  • Your grade should not exceed five in any of the core subjects
  • Grades for each of the other two best subjects must not exceed six
  • Your total aggregate must not exceed 30

If a candidate’s grade for any of the four core subjects exceeds five or if the West African Examination Council cancels any of their results, they will not qualify for selection and placement.
